History

Willert Software Tools was founded by Andreas Willert in 1992. Pursuing the idea of integrating a holistic approach in the overall development process, Willert Software Tools soon became the leading supplier of complete development environments for all stages of software engineering. With a holistic approach towards complex development projects, individual project phases are no longer handled separately with more or less well-synchronized tools. Instead, complete development environments are implemented in the project. The required know-how for all project steps is provided in the same package. While initially the focus was on environments for the development of smaller systems, i.e. 8 bit and 16 bit systems with limited resources, development environments and the related know-how today also support complex 32 bit applications. From the word go, the mission of Willert Software Tools has been to help customers develop high-quality products - with incomplex, efficient and safe methods.

Object Oriented Development with UML

The complexity of projects has increased tremendously due to new technologies and more stringent product requirements, and there is demand for new software development methods to master this ever increasing complexity. When Willert Software Tools began to focus on object oriented software development in 1999, this was a key milestone on the way to their present-day orientation. At that time, there was a lack of solutions for the development of smaller systems. Consequently, Willert Software Tools developed their own solution to this end: Embedded UML Studio™.Walter van der Heiden, who joined the company as a copartner at that time, was the major driving force behind this breakthrough solution. Embedded UML Studio™  requires a minimum of resources and has already received multiple awards:
